Why should you be at Goa for the Festival?

In the environmental history of India, films have not been considered an effective medium to represent our environment and to bring about change. The increasing popularity and usage of visual and new media has reduced professionalism to the extent that it has become an extravagance to engage with the environment. Digital technology has made it handy for anyone with a camera or a mobile phone to document environmental issues, ecocommunities and ecological interrelationships. However, though there are telling and compelling environmental stories and perspectives that individuals have documented, there are very few venues for them to be screened and viewed. Goa being an ecological hub of Western India known for its diverse ecoterrains and aesthetic waterscapes and landscapes, the location is an ideal one to attract environmental filmmakers and other ecoenthusiasts. Though in Goa the prestigious International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is organised every year, this would be a unique film festival themed Environmental/Ecological.

If you are interested in ecology …
If you want to meet people with similar interests …
If you believe that films could change the environment …
If you think that you should be part of tomorrow’s change …
If you are an ecofilmmaker …
If you think you have an idea for an ecofilm …

If you want to learn about ecofilms …

You should be at BITS Pilani, K.K. Birla Goa Campus on 31 January and 01 February 2014.
